The Smile for Tyler Fund, a donor advised fund held at the Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF), sponsored its 2nd annual Kayak for Kids event on Sunday June 11. Kayak for Kids is one of the fundraisers that supports the Smile for Tyler Fund. The combined 2021 and 2022 kayak fundraisers have awarded a total of $8,000 to the City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation from the Smile for Tyler Fund.

The Smile for Tyler fund was established at ECCF following Tyler Mancuso’s sudden passing at the age of 25 in 2020. Tyler loved to make people smile. Tyler’s family decided to try and make as many people smile as possible by doing something good for the community in his memory. To date, they have donated to the city to purchase the TruNarc device, raised money to purchase new equipment for Memorial Park, did a Smile for the Holidays, and donated gifts to the local hospitals for pediatric patients.

The Elk County Community Foundation provides the administrative and investment management services that make it easy for donors to accomplish their charitable wishes, while improving the quality of life in our communities. The Community Foundation of the Northern Alleghenies is the parent company of the Elk County Community Foundation and the McKean County Community Foundation.
