Donor Advisor Grants for WWC

The Women Who Care (WWC) Steering Committee again had a Donor Advisor for a Day “membership drive” for the 2017-18 membership year, that allowed members who registered early to give a grant to a charity of their choice. Silver Creek Terrace Activities department was the grateful recipient of a donation from Tish Pasquinelli,(right) a member of WWC. Tish made the donation of $500 to help provide entertainment and activity supplies for the residents at the new group that formed in the area. Tish’s daughter Megan Schneider (left)is the Manager of the personal care facility and Lisa Myers (center) is the Activities Director. Myers told us that the residents love when they bring special entertainment into the home and this donation will help facilitate making that happen.

Community Foundation receives its over $1.25 Million Estate Gift

The Elk County Community Foundations(ECCF) received over $1.25-million estate gift from the Zita Sicheri Estate to benefit the St. Boniface Church and School. Recently the first distribution was held at the Community Foundation office. On hand were representatives from the Church, Elementary School, ECCSS system, the ECCF Board and the Law Firm who has overseen the distribution of the will.
Jake Meyer and Brad Kraus of Meyer, Wagner, Brown and Krause Law firm has helped to administered the estate. Zita donated a good portion of her assets to the ECCF to establish the Frank and Josephine Sicheri Family Fund in honor of her parents. The Fund will be for the sole purpose of support to her church and catholic education in her community.
Zita was a very private person. The written announcement in the press of Zita’s passing was short but her life was long. In the quietness of dying, she gave herself and her possessions back to God. Her and her sisters’ years of labor and frugality will reap abundant flowers through the St. Boniface parishioners and students whose lives will be touched by her generosity.
The money will be used to create an endowment that will provide an annual gift to the church and the school, along with a donation for tuition assistance for students attending the school. Zita was born in Toby, the daughter of Frank and Jospehine DiPre Sicheri. She had two sisters and two brothers who passed before her and she was the last of her immediate family. She died in December of 2016.
The Elk County Community Foundation has been helping individuals and families realize their charitable goals for over 17 years. Through the Foundation, donors can create funds to support causes they care about. It’s like having your own private foundation – but a lot easier. Funds can be started with just a minimal donation. Most can be set up in just one meeting, and your gifts are tax deductible. To find out more, call the Elk County Community Foundation at 834-2125 or visit their website at www.elkcountyfoundation.com.
