The Stackpole Family Fund presented Grant to United Way

The Harrison and Muriel Dauer Stackpole Family Fund presented Grant Monies to the St. Marys Area United Way.

Recently, Dauer Stackpole and Paula Fritz Eddy from the Elk
County Community Foundation (ECCF) met with board members of the United Way
(UW) to present a check towards their 2011 goal. This grant will help bridge the gap that St.
Marys Area United Way experienced last year.
Hopefully these funds will minimize allocation cuts for the United Way
agencies.

The United Way has begun brainstorming sessions to ensure
they reach the projected goal for the upcoming campaign. That goal will be determined at their Board
of Directors meeting in July. With the
support of the community the United Way board is hopeful that the upcoming
campaign will be able to continue to support all their member agencies to
provide quality services. If you are
interested in becoming a supporter of United Way or would like more information
about their Leadership Club, please contact Candy Eckert at 814-781-6000.

The Harrison and Muriel Dauer Stackpole Family Fund is a
donor advised fund that continues to support the philanthropic causes that were
important to both Harrison and Muriel.
Shortly after Harrison C. Stackpole passed away, his children created a
fund in their parents memory at the Elk County Community Foundation. It was
Harrison and Muriel’s personal involvement and their long commitment to the
communities in Elk County that their family and friends had hoped to continue
by creating this fund. As for this
donation, Dauer commented, “The United Way was near and dear to my parent’s
heart. I am certain they would want to
support the community in this way.” Dauer
is the Chairman of the Donor Advisory Board for the Harrison and Muriel Dauer
Stackpole Family Fund, held at the Foundation.
Other members include his sister Laurey, his nieces and some close
family friend from St. Marys.

If anyone would like to get more information about receiving
a grant or establishing a fund at the Elk County Community Foundation of their
own, please contact Paula Fritz Eddy at 814-834-2125 or visit our website at www.elkcountyfoundation.com.
