Greater DuBois Area Community Endowment Fund will award grants through ECCF

The Greater DuBois Area Community Endowment Fund, managed by the Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF), is now accepting grant applications for its first granting cycle. The grant cycle will open January 1, 2025, with a deadline to apply by February 14th. The Fund was established through the estate of a generous donor to benefit the communities of the DuBois area through charitable distributions, with hopes to continue to grow the fund through donations from the community.

The Elk County Community Foundation will administer the fund, accept the grant applications, and distribute grants to community organizations. An advisory committee from the Greater DuBois Area Community Fund will be involved in reviewing applications and choosing successful applicants.

This year the DuBois Foundation and ECCF have joined forces to distribute $25,000 in grant funding. Grants will be awarded through a competitive grant process open to 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, municipalities, or religious organizations that serve the public in the DuBois area. Eligible organizations with initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the area are encouraged to apply for grants to support programs and projects that benefit residents. Grant awards will typically be a maximum of $5,000, but special consideration will be given up to $10,000.
